When Heretic founder Douglas Little first moved to New York City, he felt the need to develop a powerful scent to dispel the intense and sometimes overwhelming energy that often comes with urban life. Driven by a desire to also connect with his Scots-Irish heritage, he was inspired by the protective and purifying rite of Druidic contemplation, which involves burning juniper to create an aromatic and healing smoke. But rather than set a branch on fire in his apartment, he decided to put his skills as a perfumer to the test and develop a fragrance that explores and celebrates the use of smoke, which has been used by so many cultures for millennia to purify energy.
This fragrance was initially created for Douglas' personal use, but is now available to all Heretic fragrance fans who wish to immerse themselves in this ancient practice.
